Climate-Smart Agriculture

Helping smallholder farmers raise productivity and income while adapting to a changing climate.

The challenge

Smallholder farmers face shifting rainfall, degraded soils and weak links to markets. Without support, climate shocks push households deeper into poverty.

What we do

  • Train farmers in climate-smart practices such as improved seed, soil and water management and crop diversification.
  • Strengthen farmer groups and their links to input suppliers, aggregators and buyers.
  • Support access to climate information, finance and insurance.

Outcomes we work towards

  • Higher and more stable yields
  • Increased household income
  • Greater resilience to climate shocks
