Inclusive Livelihoods, Agriculture & Local Economic Development

Local economies where more people earn, grow and trade.

Why it matters

We strengthen farming, food systems and small enterprise so that households and communities can earn reliable incomes and build assets.

Most livelihoods in Nigeria and across Africa depend on agriculture and micro and small enterprise. Making these systems productive and inclusive is the most direct path out of poverty.

How we approach it

  • Work along whole value chains, from inputs to markets, not single points in them.
  • Put women, young people and smallholders at the centre of economic programmes.
  • Connect enterprises to finance, skills and markets at the same time.
