Education, Skills & Human Capital Development

Learning that carries people from classroom to livelihood.

Why it matters

We work to make sure children and young people can learn, stay in school through key transitions, and build the skills that lead to decent work.

Human capital is the foundation of every other development outcome. When learning breaks down, at school entry, in crisis or at the move into work, the cost is carried for a lifetime.

How we approach it

  • Support learners through the transitions where most drop out: primary to secondary, and school to work.
  • Keep learning going in emergencies and displacement.
  • Link skills training to real labour-market demand, including digital and future skills.
